Our community theater is preparing a small production, and I am helping choose a wig for one of the characters. Most of the outfit is settled: a dark outer layer, a pale scarf, and very little room for other colorful accessories. We can borrow samples in warmer brown, cooler brown, and muted red, but we will eventually need to select just one. I have been reading about personal palettes and came across this reference while looking for background on color analysis as a starting point for further reading. I would treat that as a starting point for questions, since a stage character does not have to follow everyday style advice. A sample looks different in the rehearsal room than near the stage, and I want the final choice to account for that. Would you compare the samples beside the actual costume under the planned lights, or start with a simpler daylight check first? I would appreciate a practical comparison method that our volunteers can repeat, especially if the first choice needs changing after rehearsal. |
