I help with costumes for a local theatre group. The character wears a jacket with a high collar, and the hair needs to read clearly from the back rows without catching on the fabric. We have kept two bob options for the next fitting. One ends near the jaw and the other sits lower. I was looking for clearer terms and came across bob haircut lengths as a reference for describing the options. We need to test the shape during the actual blocking. A close portrait misses some of the stage effect. We can compare the wigs from a few rows back. I would avoid changing the viewing angle between tests. We have only a small costume budget, so I would prefer a reversible test using pins before committing to scissors. The wig also needs to look consistent when the actor sits down. How would other costume volunteers structure that comparison? |
