For a portrait assignment, our class is exploring how a small styling detail changes the mood of a picture. Our model is happy to experiment as long as the hairstyle can return to normal that evening. One reference in our planning notes is blonde hair with pink bangs for this project. Clip in pieces are the option we are considering because colouring the natural hair is not part of this project. I want the fringe to look like part of the hairstyle instead of an unrelated prop placed across the forehead. A practice session should give us time to compare placements before the actual shoot. The background and camera angle will stay the same while we try the different placements. We will ask the model to check the fit for comfort before deciding which version to use for the finished assignment. Does anyone have practical advice on choosing the width of a removable fringe section for portrait photographs? |
